Today, on the
Distrowatch website, I read about the discontent in the Freespire development community (the article can be found
here). This sort of thing, in my mind, justifies my opinion regarding Linux distributions that branch their projects into commercial and "community" versions of themselves and is why I avoid using them.

Sometimes we forget to stop and look behind us to see how far we've travelled. I didn't realize how far, on my journey through the world Linux, I've really gone until yesterday. Something happened that forced me to stop, turn around and look far back down the road I've been travelling.

03 March 07 - 14:52Zenserver: setting up a server can't get easier
This weekend I decided to try setting up a test box of mine (a PII with 256MB of RAM and a 10GB hard drive) with Zenserver.
If Zenserver turns out to be half as easy to set-up as Zenwalk, I was going to be very pleased. However, from past experiences, I was expecting to spend the next day, day and a half, setting up Zenserver to do everything I need/want it to do.
